Pre-order Battlefield 3 Limited Edition & Get Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand

Posted Image

A poster concerning the Limited Edition of Battlefield 3 has been circulating. We're fairly certain that this poster is legitimate and have not received any news saying otherwise. The poster states that if you pre-order the Battlefield 3 Limited Edition you will get access to the DLC pack, Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand. The pack is expected to include four maps from BF2. Our bet is Strike at Karkand (given its name), Wake Island (it's already been to consoles), Road to Jalalabad, and Gulf of Oman. BF3 will also get the weapons and vehicles of these maps.

The other overlooked aspect of this announcement, is the following line: "unique rewards, new achievements/trophies, and more." Battlefield 3 will have stats, plain and simple. However, we'll have to wait for Battlefield 3 Limited Edition's announcement at GDC 2011 for official details.

Quote

The Battlefield 3 Limited Edition includes Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand at no extra charge.

The themed expansion pack features four legendary maps from Battlefield 2 boldly re-imagined with Frostbite 2 physics, destruction, and visuals. Completing the package are classic Battlefield 2 weapons and vehicles, unique rewards, new achievements/trophies, and more. For those who don't pre-order to secure the Limited Edition, Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand expansion content will be available for purchase approximately one month after the game's release.

This also means we are likely to have BC2 weapons+some new weapons in the regular game + BF2 weapons.

I hope we will be able to go in to office blocks and tall buildings and fight in them, and blow them all up , imagine a office block comeing down .

I imagine there will be more buildings we will be able to enter. Not many in BF2 Karkand, and with the new FrostBite 2 engine with the destructible buildings, I am very sure there will be more buildings that we can enter.

I would like to see the building not just come straight down but fall over on to another parts of the map. Becouse you could use that to stop the enemy advanceing.

Awesome news although it wouldn't be Battlefield 3 without Karkand in.

I hope you're wrong about Wake being one of the four though, a sh*t map and I dunno why it's so revered amongst the BF fraternity, give me Mashtuur City in Frostbite 2.0 over Wake any day.

Or we just forget about the old maps and hope the new maps are bigger and better, but all the people who have played BF from the start have their favorites, were they had good fun playing on, and as well, there has not be a true BF game sinse BF2 thats why people still look back at old maps.Hoping the new ones will be same or better than the old ones.We can just hope.

Wake Island is a classic Battlefield map, a lot of people like it.

YAY, that is what I wanted and I thought this was going to happen, so far it is looking like a true sequel to BF2, with PC's getting all the benefits.

That was always my complaint about BF2. I remember hearing promises of some destruction in BF2 and thinking (wow it will be like in BFV when a guy is hiding in some building. I can blow a hole in the wall and kill him! AWESOME!)

I really did not like that I could not go into buildings. Granted, with the tech at the time it was probably difficult to do at those graphical levels. That's why I liked the BFV urban maps, you could go in almost ANY building. It made for interesting combat.

I can't wait for this. I hope it has a friends list too; hopefully some of us can get together and play. I get fed up with working solo in squads that wont work together.

I can't wait to see these maps.
Origin, the worst thing to happen to Battlefield since Rush.
