64 Players for PC and 24 for Console.

First bit of news is good.

And if the prone is defenitely in. I'm also very happy.

Now to see some more solid information and perhaps a screenshot, and I'll gladly wait till Sep/October/November. :)

Does the large difference in player-count basically confirm that the PC and console versions will be substantially different?

There's absolutely no possible way to create balanced, competitive maps by squeezing 64 players into 24-player maps.

I know Dice wants to try and keep Bad Company seperate from Battlefield, but how can you even figure that? XD, I mean look at the cover, it's nearly a quick upgrade to Bad Company 2's cover, really dice? You guys are that lazy? LOL.

Anyway, enough babying by me, hopefully we see something real on March 1st to put these types of fears to rest, otherwise it'll be another 5 years of Battlefield 2 :).

I do agree, its a almost a direct copy and paste of BC2's cover, but I believe it will be a very different game on the console. I think it will be like BF2's setup. The maps will be scaled at 64, but console players will never see that portion of the map. The PC on the other hand will have full access to the full size map when the server sets it to 64.

It will be a cross platform game, but I do believe the PC version WILL be optimized for the PC.

I found a bit more information. I'm trying to source it.

Maps set in Paris, Tehran and New York have been confirmed. As a whole the game will cover urban streets, metropolitan downtown areas, and open landscapes suited to vehicle combat.

A new animation system will allow players to "drag fallen comrades into safety and mount weapons on almost any part of the terrain".The destructible scenery of DICE's Frostbite engine will also be in use.

The drag system is confirmed, Tehran? Mmmm, that seems really sketchy.

Really? I don't think so at all.

After all Jalallabad (however its really spelled) is a city in Afghanistan. CoD4 used a real life map layout of Prypiat.

CoD MW2 had that controversial Air Port scene, and I also believe there was combat in DC? (never played it, can't say for sure).

What would be so suspicious about Tehran?

I suppose that is true... but... really? For using the Taliban they got flak? Lets go apologize to the Germans for using Nazis... and the Japanese for using Japanese... and all the Russians that died in the James Bond movies and games...

What about all the Desert Storm games that used Iraqi military forces? There was another military game were you played as a fire team leader in the Marines.

So.. its alright if we kill random Arabs, or historical people from days gone by... but not real life people... who we are killing now... and who are killing us?

I suppose this is why 6 Days in Fallujah never took off.

People have such weird "lines". But I figured MoH got flak... because it was bad? I hated that multiplayer.

:P DICE couldn't get their shit together and improve BF where the BF experience matters, in player count, we've had 64 for too damn long.Only First Person PC games I know of that have over 64 are Minecraft and ArmA 2.

what the? that doesn’t show any gameplay, I want to see the footage that “After Battlefield 3 was just shown to the boss’s boss last week, the game was revealed to EA’s staff entirely. L_Twin also stated that people probably won’t be able to work the rest of the day (today) because their minds have just been blown.” what a let down

NICE, I am hyped! I don't think that I will watch any of the trailers or gameplay or other stuff that will be shown til realease. I will atleast try not to. I want the first experience to be extra special. It's hard to explain but I recently realised that my top favourite games has been the ones I knew least about when I bought them. I barely knew BF2 existed when I saw it in a store and just spontaniously bought it(I was not a hardcore gamer). Imagine it like the first time you had an orgasm. So unfamiliar and awesome.

Anyways, I want to buy this for pc but if I do i will need a new computer and a really expensive one. This one can handle BF2 on highest settings but not much else( The Video Card can't handle Minecraft, LOL). I bet the console versions will be great too, i mean c'mon it's BF3. But why would I want 24 players in a game when I CAN HAVE 64 PLAYERS!!

Anyone have any tips on what computer to get? Seriously I know nothing about these things

Thanks
