As it was predicted, so it shall be.
Origin, the worst thing to happen to Battlefield since Rush.

no surprise really , looking at bad company they where really jealous of cod's success obvious in the gameplay and trailers, why not also copy the business model. Also the fact they did not want to release mod tools is a sign they wanted that kind of business model since they can release any dlc they want.

I swear; dont fucking companies realize that people will play video games BECAUSE THEY LIKE TO PLAY VIDEO GAMES and will buy their product if they make a good game and there is NO REASON TO ASK FOR MORE MONEY..

*sigh*

Fucking companies man; Even if this doesn't happen, the fact that it was even brought up is the problem.

Call of duty elite did pretty poorly even on xbox because apparently there weren't even enough players playing the new maps to even find a game on them. This is a really bad idea I can't see EA getting much out of this think about how it would be on pc how is anyone gona be able to find a full 64 player match on the new maps if there released early with the subscriptions like cod? What do you think the community as whole would think of this if this were to happen?

Lol seriously. I won't even subscribe if it goes paid.

The reason Elite works with CoD is because you can still join a MW3 server from IN-GAME. In BF3, players join FROM Battlelog, there's no other officially supported way. So now it'd be like buying the game ($60) + $50/yr. Chances of it happening are slim, but you never know with stock-price-blinded CEO's.

I'm forced to agree.

Little or no good will come from this.

This won't happen. they said it was a smart business model. It is. they said they (EA) is implementing it into Fifa 12. Not BF3

There is no incentive to buy this Elite knockoff (which is a ripoff in and of itself), because Battlelog already offer so much. Also, hardly anyone on consoles even use Battlelog except when bragging about games on a forum, which is about 1% of all the gamers boasting about 1% of their games.

This would be suicide on EA/DICE's part to do this.

They won't release a BF3 Elite.

It's this kind of thinking that showed me the one single factor that changed Battlefield for the worse, was the sudden shift to locking-on weapons.

I'll be honest I'm not up to date on all the details of what is going on with this service from EA. I'm recently switching from CoD/MMOs to BF3.

I have looked at CoD Elite and other than map packs you get a map library thing, weapon library thing, stat tracking. Other than the maps Battlelog already does what CoD Elite basic does, only better. Maybe the interface for CoD Elite is better, personal preference.
If you pay for it you get some extra maps, for $50. With BF3 you get those extra maps for $15. Unless I'm mistaken the only other thing it gives you is some title/icon and some CoD videos to watch.

I really don't know why EA would believe that players want a BF3 Elite, it's certainly not what is selling the game.

You got that wrong... every Friday someone from DICE flys in from Sweden to kick you square in the nuts and steal your drinking money.

I've made several Swedish Meatball traps in preperation.

The idea of dlc's and map packs isn't bad since you can add small new stuff which can improve the game with out having to release a new one. The BIG problem is most developers and publishers just use this as an excuse to rush/sell games that lack so much. But really this buisness model of elite just sucks. Like knight said even if it wont continue the fact the idea had some consideration is just plain stupid
