I have the same exact issue as you. Occasionally it will say Disconnected from EA. I think this issue may be related to punkbuster. I was able to join a server where PB was disabled. I then manually installed the latest update of PB for BF3. PB then updated however the issue was still not resolved and I could not join a server.

i was playing fine prior to the update.

Ok, loads and loads of people are having this problem and I think I have found the fix... (well it worked for me.)

What you must do is go to PB and download the PBSetup file here. When you downloaded that you need to add BF3 as a game and click check for update.

When this is done go into you control panel and click uninstall programs. When there selected the PB services and uninstall it. It will tell you that it has uninstalled the files and you need to restart. Restart and try again!

Hope this helps... I spent a long time trying to fix this and hope you can all get back to the game!

same problem.

If it weren't for Skyrim and getting an invitation to the Diablo 3 beta I'd be royally pissed off. I'm almost completely over BF3 now, and will probably be steering clear of any new EA/DICE games. Oh well they got our money and thats all that matter to them in the end.

Thanks Chilliofoe. I was going nuts. My AVG Internet Security recently updated from v2011 to v2012. I tried disabling the firewall, which I have never had to do in the past, and I connected fine.

For me nine out of ten attempts failed, and in various bogus error messages.
tried EVERYTHING, from firewalls to routers/modem, must have been screwing around with almost every setting that you can change.

Now it works just fine.

I cant possibly tell what change that did the trick :-)
