Sup ladies and gents,

As we have all seen the tsunami of beta threads, and believe me there are more to come, we've decided to create an official beta topic to post all news/rumours/info beta-related. This to keep the forum a bit more tidy because it's turning into a mess.
All topics with tiny bits of beta news and rumours will be closed from now on, but feel free to post them here.

I'll update this post from time to time if there is more news, so people can always find the latest info right overhnya.

Beta is finished for all platforms and has passed certification from both Sony and Microsoft.

Speculations:
-Release date is probably holiday 2011 - summer 2012
-May not be just a PC release because MoH is on the console. Details state that xbox users will need a hold account (XBL)
-IGN states that "Battlefield 3 will apparently come to Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3."

Not gonna get my hopes up for this one until I get more info on it.

Being multiplatform we can probably expect a port, small and linear maps, smaller player count, bad performance, no mod tools, a hundred different game modes when we only need 1 (conquest) or maybe one similar to Titan mode, no jets, bad chopper controls, and a lame rankup system like BFBC2.

Please remember that the game being released on consoles and PC is a SPECULATION. We can still have hope that EA will respect the community and release the game for PC's only!! Also, the Frostbite 2 engine suggestion is also a speculation.

I highly doubt it is a speculation. Too much information out there that it'll be available on all console platforms as well. Its a happy yet very sad day in the Battlefield franchise. Bad call EA/DICE ... BAD CALL.

It is a speculation though . I have yet to even see a confirmed report from EA/DICE about consoles. I read a good speculation about BF3 earlier stating that EA's pre-order hopes for MoH weren't as high as they hoped, so that's the reason for BF3's sudden announcement. Actually, i have more confidence in DICE and EA together after the most recent patches in BC2. I mean come on, DICE and EA actually listened to community feedback and made changes that the community spoke out about.

I think this might be a good movement for them being that n00bs will buy and play the game regardless, but their diehard fans (like us) are still being listened to.

I personally am more inclined to play a game that has is developed and published by people who are willing to listen to the community.

BF2 was the staple for massive semi realistic combat, if they change that, they will be destroying the soul of the game.

That being said, they could just as well fuck us all over, but I really hope not.

yeah it´s a speculation but... it´s DICE so ....

DICE better not ruin this.... been waiting too long long for a new and proper battlefield game, just wish there was a bit more information. I really can't see it working on consoles unless it's arcady and watered down like bc2. But then again I guess they could do 2 versions. All I know is that there had better be:

large, open and nopn-linear maps
JETS ffs!
Commander + assets
squad leaders and proper (bf2/2142) style squads
rounds that last more than 5 minutes
a promotion system that takes ages to progress through (bf2 style)so you DON'T get to the highest rank and get all the unlocks after about a week..

COME ON DICE/EA Give us what we deserve. F*ck the stupid consoles.

I really hope they make a console version and a PC version. Maybe the same name, but the PC players get a lot more goodies (for FREEEEEEEEEEE!) I'm afraid that this big DLC push lately will have us paying for patches :/.

I've always had problems with leveling in BF games. D: Been playing BC2 for a week and rank 8. Got Sergeant in BF2 and maybe two ranks in BF43.

Though I like slower ranking. Feels like one has accomplished something..

And a copy-paste of Bad Company 2 sounds like a bad idea! What BC2 has against BF2? Graphics and sounds. :/
