After about a year and a half since the original investor packet that was rumored to contain Battlefield 3 information, the truth is here and Battlefield 3 is on its way! The post was made at G4, John Pleasants (Chief Operating Officer - EA) made the following statement during a stock conference:

Quote

"I've had the luxury of looking at Battlefield 3 over at DICE in Sweden and was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product," he said. "Of course, that's not [coming out] in the fiscal year, but that is a product that is looking very good."

We can confirm that Battlefield 3 is currently in development but at this stage we have no further comments to add.

You guys really want to start proving original sources from EA or dice, not what other 3rd party web pages post. Get your info from a real source of EA or Dice.

The audio report of the wallstreet Q&A breakout session for EA at William Blair 29th Annual Growth Stock Conference and at between 9-10mins in on the breakout audio, the EA rep does divulge BF3 is in the making over at dice, but not for this fiscal year. Wan't the source? http://investor.ea.c...m?EventID=69523

Great news! Hey Neged, good thing I didn't order that computer huh? Haha. Now I'll just wait a year to get one instead so I can run the confirmed BF3 at top speed and everything. Congrats on waiting forever guys. Can't wait for more information about the game.

There are also new rumors: 80 players online, 17 weapons with unlocks, 24 vehicles, releasedate Holiday 2010.

If mag on the PS3 can support 256 players at once then BF3 better have more than 40 or 80.

Yes, but imagine a Strike at Karkand style map with 256 players, that'd be the definition of grenade spam.

Well they'll probably integrate some sort of map resizing system like BF2 to keep the maps the proper size.

wouldnt you be mad though waiting this long for the same stuff just with better graphics. Sure some more customization and nicer graphics is good but imagine coming over a hill and seeing a huge battle playing out with a couple hundred people fighting it out.

Yeah, that'd be pretty crazy, but WoW is a laggy game and it has mediocre graphics.
