Earlier today, Battlelog for iOS was released on the app store by surprise. As of last week, the app was considered a myth, but EA has surprised the community once again. The app comes with most of the features that the desktop website comes with, featuring a full-fledged news and stats platform.

Stats & Unlocks
Track your progress and performance on the battlefield with detailed soldier stats. Check out the dog tags you have collected from your foes and see what new weapons, gadgets, vehicle upgrades, and specializations you are about to unlock next.

Leaderboards
Compare your standing among your friends on the friends leaderboard and view the top worldwide players on the global leaderboard.

In a move that's bound to have little to no effect on Battlefield 3's development, Patrick Bach (executive producer) replaces KM Troedsson while he is on leave. The reason behind the move is that KM Troedsson is in accordance with DICE's policies which state that new parents should spend time with their children. Troedsson's absence is expected to be about four months.

I think it is a bit unique at a big company, and certainly in the gaming industry, but we want the people working at DICE to see their job as a long time investment

Bach and a small team will manage the extra workload, with Bach overseeing the development of the Close Quarters DLC pack due out in June. Best of luck and congratulations to Troedsson!

Are you a Battlefield 3 gamer constantly on the go? Then you've probably heard about the Battlelog App for iOS. Comparing and tracking stats on the go is an easy way to pass the time until you can get in on another round of BF3. However, there's been some concern as to when this app will finally open up to the public.

The app was announced with the Battlelog trailer which came out on September 30th last year. There's still been some discussion in recent months about the app. The community has been hearing mostly things along the lines of, "it's coming soonTM". To pass the time, gamers have been downloading third party stat trackers and apparently Battlelog has a mobile version (which as of writing, I can't seem to get it to work with iOS).

@Battlefield's response almost make's it sound like the app is suspended/delayed.


After the most recent patch that took very long in much of the community's eyes, some are wondering if there will be an app at all. Gamers did raise concerns over the lengthy patch delay, but the patch was released. So what's your opinions on the Battlelog app, do you think it's still on the way or suspended indefinitely?

Last month, we featured the Battlefield Synchronized trailer and today, the team is back with the full episode. This Battlefield 3 movie is chock-full of action, dialogue, and of course, BF3 scenery.

Heading to PAX East in Boston? Don't forget to stop by the Nvidia Freeplay area to be one of the first to play Battlefield 3: Close Quarters. The event starts on Friday and runs through Sunday with multiple tournaments. The 8 vs. 8 tournaments will likely be held on the "Ziba Tower" map. Prizes will also be given out by Nvidia, expect to meet a few developers there too :).

Update: The patch is out in all areas, download, play, and share your opinions!

The Xbox community surrounding BF3 has been waiting for a while and it's finally here! The Battlefield 3 patch for the Xbox 360 will arrive somewhere between 4am EST (9pm UTC) and 8am EST (1pm UTC).

The update will weigh in at about 1.5gb and will feature a major list of fixes and features.
