Kertz may have moved on from BF3, but he is still pretty dedicated to the game. After releasing a test list of weapon adjustments last month, he is back with another list. Kertz posted a list of the new weapon adjustments on Symthic.com. You can get a good overview of what these numbers and adjustments mean for Battlefield 3 here.

Other changes look good so far though. 1.25x damage for upper body shots would have been good for all weapons though, rather than just snipers and .44 magnum.

alot of people think that the M98B is a .50 rifle but it is not. the bullet caliber is not that large and the energy output is not far beyond many other standard sniper calibers.

The M98B is currently the easiest sniper to use, so I'm glad that any detrimental change to it is implemented. As for the SCAR-H, they should keep it as is, but buff other SMGs, like the G53 and M4.
There's so many things they need to keep tweaking.

It's not? A 300 gr bullet from a 338 at 2721 ft/s will have almost double the energy of a 175 gr bullet from a 308 rifle traveling at 2680 ft/s. This is just muzzle energy, the difference will become greater the farther the shot is. Still not comparable to a .50 BMG of course. Not defending the M98 as I never snipe, just trying to get some facts straight.

how can you compare this round to a .308? I mean the .308 is a LIGHT weight bullet for extreme distance shooting (which was the intended design of the M98). There are many heavy hitting rounds designed for long distance shots, the .308 not being one of them. that, and there are many wieghts/loads to almost every common caliber in existence. as someone whom re-loads my own rifle rounds, I can say that I think of the .308 as a fun plinker, not a long range heavy hitter.
Also something to note is that i said it is not a "far beyond" other rounds. I never said it was similar, just not the close to having the same differential as a .50.

You were the one that first compared the 308 to the 338 with your "not far beyond" comment. I never said that the 308 was a ultra long range round, I was just correcting your "not far beyond: comment.
PS: I reload my own ammunition too, but that has nothing to do with this.

instead, just a shooter with numbers to back you up and hope for the best...
this is the best way to ruin what could be an excellent game.
rest in peace

wait, what? where did I mention the .308? i mentioned "many other standard sniper calibers". I never specified a caliber as we all "pick our poison" so to speak. my second link was on the .338 if thats what you meant, and simply misunderstood it?
I mentioned reloading because you know how the internet Jockeys' can be. I throw that out there to detract any "IRL guns do such and such" comments before they start. admittedly, I do not reload .308 and definatly not the .338
