Looking to get people into your server? Then you have to think like a gamer, there's more to just maps and modes when it comes to getting people into your BF3 server. A well written and informative title can pull a gamer's attention more than the map or mode. Include your ticket count, server features, and maybe your server's location (not needed as much since Battlelog has the location). Numbers also pull a user's attention too (what you'll see mostly is 24/7).

Lots of information in a little bit of text.
The whole reason of running a server is to have people play in it, here's some tips from the community and things too think about when you want to start a server:
- Active admins.
- Admins that don't abuse their powers (kicking players who are better than them).
- Keep server messages to a minimum, no one wants to see the rules every five minutes.
- Keep an eye out for team-balance. Often what happens is there are high ranked players on one team and newer players on the other.
- Have a website or Teamspeak? Encourage teamwork and dedication by including their information in the chat at slow intervals (two to three times a game).
- votekick, voteban, votemap. Giving power to the players will do wonders for player retainment.
- Run a ban service like PBBans or GGC-Stream.
Running a niche server can also attract dedicated players. Niche servers include 24/7 Operation Metro servers, Hardcore servers with 3D spotting, TDM servers with no M320/RPG's. This is an easy way to build a dedicated community around your Battlefield 3 server.
While running a specialized server will retain players, it can also scare away new players. Don't change your settings too much. 3,000 tickets and 500% vehicle spawn-time is a great way to keep your server empty. Have other suggestions for Battlefield 3 servers? Leave them in the comments!

Point 2, Point 6 and Point 7 I would say are the most important, as they can help keep hackers out and allow the best maps to be constantly played.

Agreed. I really enjoy when we get to vote on the next map. Even if the one I want doesn't get chosen, it's still nice to feel like I'm "in charge".

I dont like them saying that there is a problem with fast vehicle spawn and 3000 tickets, People do like epicly long, grueling battles, where you can get massive amounts of points and feel like its a real battle etc.

i think what they mean is...the "Majority" of people don't prefer ... Personally.. on Conquest... anything over 1000 is not my cup of tea.. i mean yes you can rack up some crazy points in a long round like that.. but on the downside..getting kicked for room on the server o a bsod can totally piss you off...loosing alot of potential points at a near-ending round

Imho, I'd like to see servers saying how long spawn times for vehicles are. I just don't see the point of taking down jets when they're going to spawn 5 seconds later and get back up in the air, it defeats the purpose of having jets. You'll just always have jets in the air having dogfights, jets are supposed to aid ground units by shooting enemy ground units (which is why I always have rocket pods equiped)

This game was designed for insta-battles, not strategy and tactics. unfortunately youll just have to get used to the fact that the most productive thing you can do in this game is boost your stats. this is why we see so many lonwolfers. no points in teamwork and articulated attacks. just run around and shoot like a larger version of COD then claim that this game is the real shit because its NOT COD.

The server is unranked though.
