Tomas Danko (VO Producer for Battlefield 3) replied to a gamer inquiring about future BF3 updates and what is to be expected. The next patch is not going to be a small one or a minor tweak, it will be a much more full fledged fix. The actual list of fixes and adjustments has not been released, but multiple weapon adjustments are expected. Last month, Danko also announced command rose v2.0. This new comma-rose will probably be apart of the next major patch which is expected in February.

A twitter message taken out of a longer one. They talk about why they changed the VO swearing from Alpha to the final game because it was to offensive, then this guy ask if it can't be patched in.
And he answer the above message "It's not just a small "patch", it's shitloads of recordings with lots of actors + new code support."
With that he is saying its not so simple just to apply a patch with new VO's because its alot of recording and new code that need to be implemented.

Forget NERFING weapons just because the weak gamer cries about getting hammered by a realistically powered weapon. (this is meant to be a realistic tactical shooter not a shitty arcade fps like COD)
Patch the IRNV scopes back to original power or take them out of the game completely
Patch the flash lights again for outside power its still ridiculously bright in daylight
Increase the power of JAVs against armour and increase the bolt action sniper riffle(s) power to one shot one kill for head and torso shots, JOB DONE !

This game is supposed to be realistic, but if you have played previous battlefield games, they are quite well balanced in my opinion.
Infrared scope was "Overpowered" as some put it, and DICE agreed and changed it. I don't know how it was on PS3, but if 9 out of 12 people on a team are using something, it's most likely OP. Even in MW2 (Yes, I said it, Don't cry) The UMP45 was incredible with silencer, but only 3 people tops would use it.
Play battlefield more, then repost your ideas.

In essence, the sniping would become like the most recent MOH, which ruined a potentially fun game.

that last sentence is an outright lie. I dont mean to get on you but I hate the notion that Dice tells me how far I can flank the enemy. It really wouldnt be a big deal except that there is no way I can run(or drive) WAY outside the battle to get in the rear. the entire landscape of ground warfare has pretty much cut every map in half. in maps in BF2 and prior there were MANY maps that had absolutly no out of bounds. planes, tanks and boots all had the same playable space, and even though some of it was not that pretty or detailed, it was still usable and anyone with patience and a will to attack objectives found themselves in it quite often when a team got bogged down. biggest complaint about BFBC was the linear maps. those were caused by the out of bounds areas. now when a guy says " off with them let me move as I please" you get on his case. I say let us play the map the way we want and If I use half the round to get around the enemy by going so far off the grid that they cant even see me, I have still done 10x the work as a sniper in the back.
As per the rest of your post about the sniper rifles: my thoughts exactly.

Kudos to you. good find. My faith in Dice has never been high since BF2 so ill believe that they are trying to make big changes when I see them.

As for the out of bounds i mean not being able to run into enemy non-cap for example 'carrier assault' and sabotage missions
