The latest Battlefield 3 patch had only been out for a few days before the command rose was confirmed to be getting a 'big time' overhaul. The most recent patch did bring noticeable improvements to the rose, but it's still not perfect in DICE's eyes. Tomas Danko, a Battlefield 3 developer tweeted that the newest version of Battlefield 3's command rose will be arriving for PC players in February:

Yes the tactical rose as well. But most were to comunicate with the comander. Such as Request orders, Request UAV support. Oh, thats right the squad leader was going to take on this role. So much for requesting vehicle drop and supplies. The MAV seems to be more important to take rides on. The squad sizes are so small that a 4 man team means a MAV operator, supplies, medic and mortors would fill the role one good comander could do for the whole team.
I think they should include a better mini map or choice along with different possible location on the screen with this patch. Have a choice of 2d or 3d spotting. Or evan better, the role of a comander or not.
It would be intresting if they had the option. BF2 gameplay server or BF3 for the old BF2 maps, how many people/servers would run and populate.
