As was announced yesterday, Battlelog was down for a series of updates that improved usability and added features. It has since returned with a better user interface and PC Battlefield 3 players will enjoy the much enhanced server browser. Back to Karkand is also set for release today. Currently it has been released in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. The pack will be out in North America in just a few hours (we'll let you know when it's here!) The Battlefield 3 developers also released a trailer filled with gameplay to taunt us players even more:

A Reddit user also found this thank you monument on the beaches of Battlefield 3's Wake Island explaining that the DICE team is thankful for those soldiers who have fought on the map from BF1942 all the way through BF1943.

My pleasure.

I got my first Gold Star in BF2 on a 24/7 Wake Island server. ;-)

Looks epic, as expected. I'm just waiting for the "vets" to point out everything that's wrong about this map. Also, all the other maps in this expansion. I just remember running C4'd blackhawks into tanks on this map.

They really should have released the game with Wake Island, I mean, ever BF game has included that map upon release, so I can see why some didn't see it as a BF game at first. Wake Island is going to be a blast, gonna enjoy the 3 other maps too.

There's a toy dinosaur at the bottom left of the plaque too. I also found another dinosaur on another part of the island.
