During yesterday's investor conference, EA's Frank D. Gibeau stated that "the next 6 months is to have a very robust set of expansion packs."
EA released six new screenshots of the Back to Karkand expansion pack and more information about Battlefield 3's DLC plans. Back to Karkand will bring four maps from Battlefield 2 into the Frostbite 2.0 environment and feature ten new weapons, dog tags, achievements/trophies, persistence system, and three new vehicles (F-35B STOVL (fighter jet), BTR-90 (APC), DPV (IFV)). No set date was revealed other than December. PS3 users will probably gain access to this pack one week early after losing out on a free copy of BF1943. The six new screenshots are from various angles, but none feature Wake Island.

I disagree....it's sad that DICE is taking the DLC approach to make more money (but happy for them I guess).
Strike at Karkand comes free...I'm not buying any other DLC unless they release mod tools.
Let's hope that they get this DLC crap done with so they can consider those tools...

Does anyone know if the weapons will work on all maps or just the new ones?
[/quote]
I'm pretty sure that they're only for those maps...otherwise it would be overpowered (potentially) for those people who don't get the DLC...

I don't get it. How come you guys prefer the older maps rather than the new ones.
I can't say anything because this is only my 3rd Battlefield game.

Well, those 4 maps are just perfect. They are absolute masterpiece.
You will understand if you buy the BF2

Well, if they're going to do it anyway, then it might as well be something good.
