Console editions of Battlefield 3 are coming with HD textures for those who choose to install them. The difference between the uninstalled and installed screen shots is not just noticeable, it's poptart graphics upgraded to a PC. The HD install has been seen at 1.5gb (Xbox 360). Wow, the difference is astounding. With the HD pack installed on the 360, will it affect the games performance?

Wow im sorry but I must point this out at the 2 last pictures The 2nd to last picture does look like ps2 and also it seems to be missin half the dang stuff that should be there. I mean seriously would you feel threatened by what looks to be 2 dvd players a box with a wire in it and I think looks like a house phone laying on a brick... But then the HD one of it is clearly way different.

From what i understand...its the small things that are more detailed when up close with the HD texture pack...At a distance without the texuture pack, everything looks good...Like it says, it just changes textures when up close...the lighting and every else non texture related will stay the same.

Thank you, i'm glad you know that my eye's weren't working.
Fucking seriously? Give the platform war a rest. It's old and for the mature people, down right annoying.

The differences look amazing, saaahhh keen to smash out the SP.
The texture packs make no difference for MP though, do they?

In regards to PC vs. Console (with HD Textures)

*ahem*

the only GLARING difference I can notice...is slightly better lighting on PC...I will have to look more in depth once I get the game, but aside from a few better lighting touches, I can't pinpoint anything major

Also more polygons for the pc version. :) Plus better lightning.

Anyway, the game does indeed look better, with the HD texture pack, than i thought. Everybody's happy, move on. ;)

The models on the PC version definitely have more detailed geometry. Textures and lighting are not the only difference.
