It has come to my attention and most peoples attention that Battlefield 3 is in the current stage of "la la land" aka "where is an announcement." So I have a proposal for any interested gamers here. Unfortunately there was no BF3 announcement at e3 2008 during EA's press conference today. There were plenty of awesome trailers and guest appearances that was fun to watch, but absolutely nothing remotely addressing the Battlefield series. And surprisingly nothing about Battlefield: Heroes. I guess we'll be waiting.

DICE's Battlefield franchise looks to expand, with an executive producer for the Swedish developer revealing that a further five titles in the series are currently in development.

Speaking at the Paris GDC, Ben Cousens stated that, "Since the start of this year I've been working as executive producer for the entire Battlefield franchise - we've got five titles in development at the moment, which is probably more than you expect."

Successful both critically and commercially, the most recent entry in the series is the console exclusive Bad Company, which takes Battlefield into previously uncharted single player territory and has so far been met with warm reviews. Battlefield Heroes – a free to play game for PC – is set to release this summer.

Gamesindustry.biz reports that of the forthcoming games, one will be a console based effort while another will be developed with South Korean company Neowiz and is aimed at the Korean market, and a third is likely to come in the shape of the heavily rumoured Battlefield 3.

Search a BF2 username, at the bottom of the player stats. If you scroll down you will see a new map under the "Armored Fury" section which is named "Shangai Showdown." Could this be a map for Armored Fury based somewhere in the US. If you look at the map name it has "Shanghai" which is a city in China, not in the U.S., so will we be playing BF2 vanilla in a Chinese city, or do we need Armored Fury to play the new map? Also, there will be a beta soon. We will no pretty quickly then.

Not Battlefield 3 like we may have hoped, but who knows!

Somewhat leaked and an exclusive from netgameradio that there will be something big announced for(maybe) Battlefield 2 tomorrow.! No details besides a little giggle, but you can listen here:

It's been about 6 months since Battlefield 3 was supposed to be announced in January, but we didn't get that announcement. We also got a few hints towards a PC based game that would also be Battlefield, so how long could we wait for an announcement?
